Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Philosophy. Currently, I am finishing my M.A. degree in Mathematics Education. I have over 6 years of math tutoring experience, and about 3 years of formal math teaching experience. I have tutored students various levels of math such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and introduction to proof writing. I have also tutored beginning physics.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is very simple. I want to make sure that students understand the concept, so they can succeed in their math classes. I have the ability to model concepts by providing students specific examples. I believe that everyone has the ability to do mathematics. But in order to learn mathematics, they need to get their hands dirty and work on many problems. I am also a very personable, entertaining, creative, and intelligent person to be around during tutoring sessions. I want students to learn and have fun with math.
