Experience Summary
Ever since I was a young college student, I have had a desire for educating young people and adults. I enjoy observing their enthusiasm upon connecting with a subject. I have earned a bachelor degree in elementary education, as well as an endorsement in the area of ESL (English as a Second Language). I have taken many courses in the teaching of both reading and writing. During the past six years I have been a substitute teacher for several school districts, donated my time at church helping the youth, and volunteering as an ESL teacher.
Teaching Style
I look at myself as a conduit to childrens' lives. My hope is that I'll make an educational imprint in each individual I teach. I am kind, patient, understanding, and helpful. If a child is having trouble learning one way, then I'll shift my approach and teach in a different style. I believe all students can learn and with enough encouragement, patience, and love, their chances increase.
