Experience Summary
Since receiving my teaching certificate in English from the state of California in 1985, I have been employed as a Guest Teacher within Tracy, Ca.; Stockton, Ca.; Modesto, Ca.; Turlock, Ca.; and, currently, in Prescott Valley, Az. I am frequently requested as a guest teacher at Glassford Hill Middle School in Prescott Valley and have served as a long-term guest teacher for English classes on numrous occasions.
Teaching Style
As I am a very auditory/visual learner, I tend to to lean towards both auditory and visual techniques. I question the students as to what he or she intended to say in their writing, what is the intent of the paper--will this persuade the reader, inform the reader, compare/contrast ideas-- and see if the writer is in fact accomplishing this goal through effect word choices, sound reasoning, specific examples, and other components of writing. The hope is to edit the document for clarity geared towards the reader of the document and to polish the writing skills of the student.
