Experience Summary
I have coursework in special education and human development and family studies that has prepared me to work with children and families. My volunteer and paid experience as a substitute and child care teacher has allowed me to apply this knowledge directly to working with this group. In addition, I have mentored high school youth in the areas of scholarship and community service. As a freelance grant writer and nonprofit management professional, my reading and writing skills would be invaluable to young children.
Teaching Style
I like working with children hands on and gaining a better understanding of what works best for them. Whether it be with visuals, paper, using words; I am up to meet the needs of the child to fulfill their highest potential. Also, I like learning from the child's response to see what works best and what doesn't as a best practices.
