Experience Summary
I have always been passionate about education. I pursued a double bachelor's degree in English and Spanish with the hopes of teaching the subjects one day. Indeed, I will, as in the fall I will begin graduate school to obtain my Masters in Spanish Secondary Education. With my English major, I not only perfected my grammatical skills but also my ability to write clearly and effectively, as I had to write many papers. As for my Spanish ability, I have been to Spain and Peru with my university, where I was able to practice my language abilities. During the course of my college years, I have tutored two ESL students in various subjects as well as assisted many students with writing papers and edited papers.
Teaching Style
I am confident that any student can learn the material; however, I know that sometimes different amounts of work are required, as well as different teaching methods. I try all methods until I find one that works. My job is to teach the student, and I do not stop until they understand the material. I am highly encouraging to my students, though I do push them to work hard in order to succeed. Nevertheless, I think the learning environment should be comfortable and fun in order to reduce tension for the child, so I strive to maintain an easygoing manner. Also, I long to impact student's lives, and so I try to teach them about life and to explain how the material can be applied in everyday life.
