Experience Summary
As a graduate of sciences I have an in depth knowledge of the basic skills that are needed to continue a higher education. I have completed 140 hours in college that includes plenty of hours in biology, physics, math (thru calculus III) , and chemistry. I have also been tutoring freshman college students in these areas for several years. I know what it takes to learn and retain the vital information that needs to be learned before the student enters college. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker and can tutor students that are currently taking Spanish. I am able to teach these subjects to biligual students who need extra help in the science and math subjects.
Teaching Style
I approach teaching as something that takes very much patience and willingness to listen to the students problems. I believe in letting the student self discover his or her ablitiies by steering them in the right direction. I act as a guide and help further explain the ideas that are trying to be learned. I believe in a combination of teaching methods including but not limted to books, the web, models, videos, an flash cards. By practicing a little every day the skills can become second nature. There comes a point when the information clicks and the child will be able to carry this method into other areas of life.
