Experience Summary
I have worked as an Art Teacher in the Miami-Dade County Public School System for the last 20 years. I earned a BFA in Graphic Design and a MS in Educational Computer Technology. I am am certified to teach art in both NY and Fl and hold National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Art. My areas of expertise include drawing, painting, printmaking, stained glass, computer art and claymation,fused glass,sewing, and ceramics. During the last five years I have tutored students in reading.
Teaching Style
I love teaching art because it engages children in several learning modalities at a time. In art, children are able to learn so much through discovery.I believe in assisting students in setting goals and teaching them proper use of the tools and technique to achieve those goals. I believe all children are innately creative. It is my job to help them express their inner vision and natural ailities
