Experience Summary
I am a professional case manager who over the past 20 + years has held a variety of positions typical of the non-profit world. I work with the disabled population and have extensive successes working with those living with disabilities that fall under the autism spectrum and down syndrome. I am familiar with writing research papers and I am knowledgeable with the APA and Chicago Style of writing. I love English and the way in which words can create pictures in our minds.
I am relocating from New York to Minnesota in the Spring of 2010 and I am thrilled to be given an opportunity to return to my favorite passion of teaching and empowering others to become lifelong learners.
Teaching Style
I feel that one of my strengths is my creativity towards learning. Not all people learn in the same manner, therefore my teaching style depends on the person I am working with. Some people learn best through rhythm and tones, other through notes and elaborate explanations, samples and examples.I am a very patient person and I do not like to give up but explore the numerous creative manners in which to unlock learning for an individual. I have a very relaxed, easy going personality myself and I am approachable and understanding. However I am honest and firm in my values and beliefs. Learning should have a level of sustainability to it and build upon experiences, cultures, and beliefs.
