Experience Summary
I have a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics.I am a very experienced private math tutor.
During my 2nd undergraduate year at TSU, I began to teach physics labs. Initially,I taught "general" physics 1 and 2 lab sections,(those for science majors; excluduing engineering and physics majors). I was assigned multiple labs each semester thereafter, until my own graduation.Senior year, I was assigned the calculus based labs.
The department also paid me to do tutoring for general physics.
Teaching Style
Every person learns a bit differently. Personally, I find that an individual’s feeling and attitude about subjects such as mathematics and physics can greatly impact a student's success than any other factor.I aspire to help students see how fun (and actually quite addictive) math and mathematical sciences really are. If it can become fun, it is no longer “work”. I use many analogies. Obtaining a strong conceptual understanding about a topic makes the "problem" part easier to understand and retain. It also reduces frustration. I really love to see someone's face light up... when "it clicks", and there is understanding.
