Experience Summary
As an honors graduate from Kennesaw State University's Education Program, I have learned some of the keys to being a successful teacher. I tutored students in math and science throughout my college career, so I feel very capable of tutoring math and science through the high school level. While being certified in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and having many experiences in an elementary classroom, I am currently teaching Special Education Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies in a Department of Juvenile Justice School to students in 4th-12th grades. My education and experiences have prepared me to tutor in all of the basic subjects in every grade level from kindergarten to high school.
Teaching Style
I believe that teaching needs to be fun and engaging for students. If they can touch and experience what they are learning, they are much more likely to remember the key concepts they are being taught. Students also need to be shown how what they are teaching relates to the real world. All of this can be accomplished using research based methods that are proven to be effective in teaching students of all ability levels. All students can be successful in their learning, but each student is unique in how they will be successful. When they are taught using their primary learning style, then the learning process becomes easier for them. As a teacher it is my job to teach students how to be successful both in the classroom and outside.
