Experience Summary
As an art student I have always had the desire to experiment in all mediums. I have completed my BFA at Brevard College, a private liberal arts college, with emphasis in Sculpture and minor in Environmental Design. After finishing my liberal arts education in the Fine Arts I decided that my experience has enabled me to educate others. After realizing this I continued on to get an Art Education License and have been substitute teaching for 3 years. Also during this time I was trainer/caretaker for a young special needs girl.
Teaching Style
Children are our future. It is important they we shed the best possible light on them, by this I mean giving them all the opportunity possible. Experience as education is the approach I go for. Engaging activities, progressive thinking and creative problem solving are solutions to enabling the children to function in society. I am also a true believer in the importance of skill development as the primary goal for beginner artist. My initial teaching approach is very technique based as I gradually add in concept based activities that challenge the child to think and create.
