Experience Summary
As a graduate teaching associate at the Ohio State University and having studied Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences of Aachen, I have practical experience dealing with all forms of parlance in the German language. These strengths, combined with a deep knowledge of and fluency in the German language, prepare me to make a strong impact as a tutor.
I have extensive teaching skills in the German language due to my time as a graduate teaching associate, having coached and tutored students in mass and one on one.
Teaching Style
I use all methods of second language acquisition in my teaching. Most of the exercises I use to help beginning are communicative methods. It's better to get them speaking and writing and build their confidence than to just use rote memorization or drills. If I think the audio-lingual method will help a more advanced student, I suggest and practice this method with them. If reading in the language with the translation side by side helps, we will practice that. I bear all forms of cognitive learning in mind when tutoring a student. I strive to help in whatever way I can.
