Experience Summary
I am a studio art graduate with focuses in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking from Taylor University. I am also a passionate and practicing artist, enthusiastic about learning in the arts as well stirring up a passion for the arts in others. I am also pursuing my Master of Fine arts in Painting in the near future. The skills I have acquired in my four year study in the arts have equipped me to confidently help others who are struggling in such areas. I have participated in critiques as well as aided fellow students in painting classes and drawing classes. It is rewarding to know you have impacted someone positively and perhaps increased their desire to learn, and their joy in learning as well.
Teaching Style
A teacher's passion for a subject is not only inspiring, but also contagious. I enjoy my own work so much so that I long to see others achieve the same joy and satisfaction. As such, I strive to be patient, understanding, and open to the various ways that children learn, and desire to work with them in the way that best suits their unique needs. I want to see students work at their potential, and will not hesitant to offer constructive criticism. I favor a hands-on approach to teaching, allowing students to explore, learn, and make decisions for themselves. I feel this is this most effective and allows for a more thorough and permanent understanding. I think learning should be an enjoyable as well as a necessary part of life.
