Experience Summary
I'm a professional musician and teacher, and I've got a lot of real world experience both as a player and teacher. I studied classical guitar, but I play all styles. Studying classical guitar gave me a huge repertoire of not only music but general music knowledge. I do studio work, live work, and I teach both as a private instructor and as a staff member or the the City of Los Angeles.
Teaching Style
I teach because I love to help people learn. Most students are children, and teaching children of allages is a blast. All kids are different, and you really have to know what makes them tick.
I'm very good at seeing what works for kids and what doesn't. I'm very patient, and I believe in making sure students understand why things are the way they are in music. It's very frustrating playing things, but not knowing why or how it all works. I keep teaching fun, and I approach every student as a new journey..I'm just a really experienced tour guide. Kids will learn to play what they want to play as well as what they need to know how to play.
