Experience Summary
I love music and enjoy sharing and nurturing the gift of music to children and adults. Music has given me many rewards and joys and I believe music can unite people to a common togetherness like no other art form or medium.
In addition to teaching music, I also regularly perform in music situations such as, churches, theatres, clubs, and community events. Through performance, I continue to learn musical ideas, which I share with my students.
I have a B.A. in Music Education with graduate studies in Music Performance.
Teaching Style
In the teaching and tutoring process, I use contemporary methods of instruction, which include the internet, mp3 examples, and DVD's. I also use traditional methods in teaching because music requires a special sharing of skill and knowledge much like other art forms. A step by step progression of skill acquisition is vital to the continued success of the student in music. These skills remain in use throughout the students musical life.
