Experience Summary
As a Stanford graduate, I have worked in a variety of capacities teaching students, including as a classroom teacher for English Composition in Africa, as a German tutor for high school students, and as an editor and proofreader for a variety of essay types. I am confident tutoring and advising in a broad spectrum of humanities and liberal arts subjects, including English and other languages, writing, etc. I am available to assist both with classroom studies and with test or college prep.
Teaching Style
Whether I am working with a single student or a classroom full of students, my teaching style focuses on ensuring that my students understand any key work we are doing before moving on. I am a patient teacher, but I do not allow students or tutees to "slack off" or "just get by." I will hold my students' feet to the fire until I am sure that they truly do understand what we are working on, and not that they have just memorized enough to be able to repeat back what they have been told.
