Experience Summary
I received my Bachelors Degree in Economics and History with a grade point average of 3.3. Upon graduation, i worked for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC)as subject officer in Economics, History and Social Studies. WAEC is the equivalent of SAT or College Board in the U.S. My responsibilities included:networking with academics in developing curriculum, developing test items, scoring keys and marking schemes in the above subjects. My academic and professional development have provided me with the requisite skills to tutor high school students for two years in preparation for their High School Diploma examination.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is one based on interractive discussion. I like to learn first what the students know and what their difficulties are, then try to teach through group interraction. I provide one-to-one coaching to students who learn faster by such means. I am passionately interested in taking my career further to acquiring professional teaching career at a doctorate level, and i consider tutoring as a catalyst for putting me on that path.
