Experience Summary
My only formal tutoring experience was during my high school years as a reading tutor for middle school students attending an at-risk school in Tulsa, OK. That said, I have guided, mentored and coached countless fellow students during my college career as well as professionals who have worked either with or for me during my 11 1/2 year career as an accountant. Throughout both my education career as well as my professional career, I have gained valuable knowledge in the areas of accounting, finance, math, economics, reading and writing, and I have enjoyed very much sharing this knowledge with colleagues and friends along the way.
Teaching Style
My tutoring style is that of thorough explanation. I don't give the answers but, rather, coach the individual to determine the answers on his/her own and then provide the theory as to why the answer is correct. I am very compassionate, cheerful, and outgoing, and those personality traits, as well as my passion for learning, teaching and interacting with children of all ages come through in my instruction. I don't think any questions are stupid or unnecessary; rather, I welcome and encourage questioning, as I feel that doing so is an integral part of the learning process.
