Experience Summary
As one who holds a Bachelor's and Master's in the arts, I believe in the power of exploratory learning. However, as one who has spent considerable time working in computers and networking, I value the attainment of hard knowledge. When the two are combined according to a student's particular learning modality(ies), then learning become meaningful and accelerated.
In my professional career I was largely self-taught. My success depended upon my ability to learn new concepts based upon my current knowledge set, and to continue growing on that basis. I would ask nothing less from any student of mine. I am well-versed in the English language, a superb grantswriter, and a natural story teller...
Teaching Style
I believe in Constructivism, whereby rudimentary skills are continually built upon; a combination of rote learning and discovery-based learning built upon a mastery of previously-learned concepts, plus testing in real-world scenarios to activate within the student the ability to apply learning through analysis and thought coupled with experimentation.
