Experience Summary
As a UCR graduate, I have been devoted to acquiring and developing my skills acquired during school. I earned a BA degree in Political Science which has enabled me to gain experience in the way the government works, and also further developed my writing, reading and analytical skills. With my family owning group homes for troubled boys aged 7-17 there were countless times that I volunteered to tutor the kids who were having trouble in school. Recently, I am in the process of becoming a CASA worker which is a volunteer mentor for a child who is the foster care system.
Teaching Style
I love working with youth but especially young children because they are, in my view, easier to work with. I understand that every child is different and some will be oral learners, visual learners, etc. Every one has a method of learning that works for them and I am more than willing to adapt and adjust to each individual child. I am very easy going, patient and empathetic. My goal is to have every child fulfill their educational goals, but also to challenge them to exceed their goals and reach their full potential through academic work and through experiences.
