Experience Summary
I have worked as a financial analyst and sr. plant accountant for fortune 500 companies for over 20 yrs. During which I designed, planned, implemented, managed & maintained an extensive inventory control process. I have delivered reports to all levels of the company, both written and oral. I have also run my own business where I was responsible for all of the accounting and computers. I have designed custom reports in excel, word, and industry specific programs. I have worked with Penn State & Red Wing Software in implementing cost acctg. in the dairy industry. I have volunteered 14 yrs. as 2nd grade teacher at local parish school of religion. Time is limited and the kids are tired, so I plan carefully to keep the lessons interesting.
Teaching Style
My style of teaching varies with the child, their age, personality, subject, and amount of time we have. Besides teaching 2nd grade religion for 14 years my daughter has ADD. I have worked with kids who need to keep moving while they learn, to kids who need complete quiet. Some kids are more visual learners; others need to act the lesson out, while others do fine quietly reading. The important thing is to make it interesting so they WANT to learn. Older kids with a higher level of maturity don't require as entertaining a lesson. They want to see how to apply what they are learning to their life. To know there is a reason to learn makes them WANT to learn, understanding WHY they will need to know the information makes the learning easier.
