Experience Summary
I currently hold a Kansas Teaching License in Elementary Education, and have degrees in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have experience as a Preschool teacher, and also have worked as a paraprofessional for the Wichita Public Schools. Through this position, I was able to gain experience in tutoring and working with small groups of children in all subjects. After this, I completed my student teaching in a 1st grade classroom, and therefore gained experience in teaching language arts to students who are learning to read.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is focused around my philosophy of education, which is that every child is capable of learning. When teaching children, I take strong consideration of the multiple intelligences, and cooperative education teaching techniques. This is because that I have seen that while every student can learn, each student has his own needs in regards to how he or she learns. I also believe in providing hands on experiences and concrete examples in my teaching so that students can acquire the skills that they need to be independent learners.
