Experience Summary
I have spent the past 25 years in the field of direct-sales and sales-management. The nature of my products required a "consultative" selling style with an emphasis on teaching my clients. I had sales agents in various countries who had to be trained in the technical details of our equipment as well as their operation. Our agents were non-native English speakers so I am accustomed to working with individuals from many different backgrounds and cultures. I have been a lay-preacher for 15 years and have taught Bible study classes. I also taught public speaking. In 2009 I graduated from ITTT with a TESOL Diploma and would love to leave the corporate world and utilise my teaching skills to help people enrich and improve their lives.
Teaching Style
Having spent the first 15 years of my sales career working with and teaching non-native English speakers I realise that listening skills, patience and empathy are three of the most important qualities that an effective teacher must possess. Minds are like sponges that absorb whatever they are immersed in, but at different rates, so it's important to understand that all students learn in different ways and progress at different rates, therefore flexibility and patience are absolutely required so the teacher can maximize their students' learning experience.
