Experience Summary
I am a veteran teacher of nearly 28 years. As a teacher at Perrysburg High School, I have taught every level of English from grades 9-12. I have taught English to students who struggle with the subject and I have also taught honors level students. For a ten year period I taught journalism classes at the high school and advised the school newspaper. I am experienced at teaching writing skills which include simple expository writing, more complex writing and research papers. At Perrysburg I tutored students in many different subjects in the school writing lab. I feel I am able to help any student of junior high or high school age.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is one where I adapt to the situation and what it requires. I believe each student should be taught to the individual level they are on but still challenged. I am a very patient and easy going person. I relate well to students and am able to use this ability to get the most out of them. I also believe that students will rise to the expectations we put on them. All children have potential for great things, it is just up to us to determine what these great things are.
