Experience Summary
I am an educator and department head for my grade level. I have experience being an educator as well as a leader. I have a Bachelors degree in Health Services, Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I am ESOL-endorsed, Reading endorsed, and Gifted endorsed. I am have worked for a Supplemental Education Services Company for 2 years tutoring students in reading. I have also tutored privately in the areas of reading and mathematics. I have over 10 years of experience in working with students in various aspects: teaching, tutoring, volunteering, summer camp, and after care programs.
Teaching Style
I love what I do and that is teaching. I would not trade being an educator for anything else in the world. I am good at what I do and I do it well. I was nominated to be Teacher of the Year at my current school after teaching for 2 years. I am a firm believer of instructing to meet the needs of all students. There are various types of learners and I believe that all of those learners need should be met in some form or fashion. I encourage students to think critically and outside the box. This allows them to be creative in their thinking. I strive to make a difference in every way for all students.
