Experience Summary
I have tutored students of all ages, from elementary school to adults. I have taught at the elementary level, and substitute taught kindergarten through high school, but I most enjoy tutoring one-on-one. For the last two years, I have tutored adults studying to earn their GED, primarily in math, and over the past six years, I have taught the Microsoft Office Suite of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. I have tutored general math, algebra I, geometry, and I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in biology.
Teaching Style
When I teach, I am patient, positive, and encouraging. Learning is of utmost importance to me, and I will try different teaching techniques until I know a student has successfully grasped the concept being taught. I work hard to instill self-confidence in all my students because I believe every one of them has the ability to learn. I try to make learning fun, and I want to make sure the students understand why the subject is important and how it is relevant in their life now and in the future. Ultimately, I strive to help my students enjoy learning and want to come to class every day.
