Experience Summary
Hello! I am currently finishing my B.S in Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCSC. I've been working at Merit tutoring for the past three years as a chemistry, algebra I & II, geometry, trigonometry and calculus tutor with students ranging from middle school to college age level. In addition, I have learned extensive laboratory skills while interning at Roche (a pharmaceutical/research and development company in Palo Alto). I've been tutoring algebra and geometry since my senior year in high school so I work really well with teens and young adults.
Teaching Style
Tutoring is an extremely rewarding experience because I get to know each of my students as individuals. Every student works/learns in their own manner and as a tutor, I strive to make them understand their own potential. My goal as a tutor is to give them a different/more indepth view of the subject considering the textbook does not always make sense to the individual student. Ultimatly, I wish to give my student the tools to become excellent learners.
