Experience Summary
I am a graduate student in the PhD program in physics at Florida International University. I have a very strong academic background in both physics and mathematics and have completed my M.S. degree in physics in 2009. I have a lot of experimental research experience, approximately 5 years experience. I also have approximately 3 years of teaching experience teaching introductory physics and astronomy labs as well as fundamentals in problem solving for general physics at Florida International University. Therefore, I have experience teaching in the class room as well as in the laboratory.
Teaching Style
I first begin by determining what areas of a students particular subject do they know and which areas are they struggling with so we can begin to target those areas they are struggling with by focusing on which concepts the students have a particularly hard time grasping. A lot of times the real problem is that the student has never had someone take the time and personal attention that student needs to explain certain concepts to the extent they may need to understand certain basic principles. I understand that different students learn in different ways and at different paces. Everyone has different learning capabilities, so I am very patient with all of my students.
