Experience Summary
I was a valedictorian in my high school, moved on to Fresno State on a full scholarship as a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. I obtained two degrees magna cum laude, one in Physics and the other in Philosophy, as well as a minor in Math. Here I tutored all levels of Calculus to college students under Fresno State's Math department for two semesters. During this time I did a variety of Physics research and obtained one journal publication. I also volunteered as a tutor in the community as an undergraduate. I subsequently joined Jesuit Volunteer Corps for a year. During this time I worked in a low income community and tutored regularly. I am currently completing an MA degree in Afro-American Studies at UCLA.
Teaching Style
Kids typically like me. I'm fun, but can be firm when needed. I am a creative, out of the box thinker, and will use these skills find ways to help your child understand and master the material. I am patient and caring and am motivated by my desire to make a difference in the lives of the youth I tutor.
