Experience Summary
As a summa cum laude graduate with a BS in Chemistry I worked for over 25 years in the printing industry. One of my responsibilities was to explain to the pressmen the chemistry and physics of the printing process so that they could be better printers. This led me to an interest in relating science to the everyday world. I also have a passion for understanding how we know what the scientists tell us. Three years ago I earned my Wisconsin teaching license for Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Life Science) and Broadfield (general, intro) Science. I taught physics and physical science for two years. I currently tutor individual students.
Teaching Style
I enjoy finding the way to make science interesting and learnable to individuals. That is different for every person. I tailor my tutoring to cover the curriculum and skills required by the class to meet the background knowledge and interests of the student. I also teach techniques to help in the memorization process and work with the student to tailor that to their specific personality.
