Experience Summary
I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. As a Biology/ Pre-Med student, I have extensively studied the many aspects of biology, from general biology to the difficult areas of immunology and histology. While in college, I held the position of peer tutor in the areas of biology and some chemistry. With my future plans of becoming a medical student and eventual a practicing physician, biology is a large part of my learning.
Teaching Style
I am a true believer that learning is one the most rewarding and exciting aspects of an education. Being a peer tutor and having other leadership positions, I am aware that people are individuals and therefore will have diverse learning styles. Through my rigorous studying for enterance into medical school, I realize that the most effective way to determine if a student is truly comprehending a concept is to get them to "teach" or explain the concept back to the instructor. If a tutee can properly explain the lesson that was taught, then it is a clear indication the student understands. Discipline is very important to me and I an advocate of always going beyond what is required because the latter reward will always be great.
