Teaching Style
I am well-equipped and thrive in facilitating learning with disadvantaged and gifted learners by using a learner-centered approach and life-long learning principles including mutual respect, preventive counseling, relevance, hands-on learning, and basic human rights. Using listening skills, I learn the student's personal goals and gifts to incorporate these into the learning experience so learning is relevant to their needs. Using family therapist/case manager skills, I can coordinate additional support for learners in creative ways beneficial for them, their family of significant others and teachers.
