Experience Summary
I have five years of experience in teaching, childcare, mentoring and community service. My bachelor's degree in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign indicates my highly developed verbal and writing skills. In addition, on a recent verbal teacher's exam, I achieved a score of 750/800. I plan to attend a Master's program in Middle-Secondary Education this year.
Teaching Style
As the oldest child of a family with seven, I have an intuitive understanding of child psychology and motivation. I have a sincere love for children, and I am pursuing a career as a teacher. The children I have worked with who have learning challenges have been the most influenced by my positive reinforcement. I focus the most attention on changing the way they think about learning, and keeping our approach simple. I practice the material with them as much as needed, reward progress and constantly remind the student, "You can do this."
