Experience Summary
I have tutored Writing Skills at Queens College, at the Writing Skills Workshop. This job was obtained through a reference of the poet Marie Ponsot, whose creative writing class I attended. I served as a research assistant and teaching assistant to the chairperson of the history department, Baruch College, Ms. Cynthia Whittaker. As a teaching assistant I helped the college students improve their essay writing skills.
I have subbed in the NYC Department of Education and had a regular position for some months in a Laurelton junior high school. I left this position to pursue another career. I have subbed on a long term basis at Bayside High School.
Teaching Style
I teach to the particular intelligences that a student has. My aim is to engage the student, to connect his interests, and his particular strengths, to the task at hand. I also have the view of teaching the student a process, to provide the student with a logical order to be followed. With essay writing it is introduction and thesis, body of essay, conclusion.
