Experience Summary
I enjoy tutoring more than just about any other activity. I've taught private piano lessons to kids for four years, and having grown up with a lot of homeschooled siblings, I know how to work with children as well as adults, and I love helping people learn.
My strongest subject is English. I have a Bachelor's degree in it from the University of Denver, with a 3.9 GPA and distinction in my major. My senior thesis won an award for the best critical thesis submitted in my graduating class, and I've received a B on a paper only once in my college life—all the rest were A's.
Teaching Style
I'm informal but I like to go into depth whenever possible. I focus on explaining things and understanding concepts, rather than just knowing how to complete certain tasks. I think the tutoring experience should be fun and relaxed, as well as intensely educational, because the best learning occurs when both the teacher and student are interested in the subject.
