Experience Summary
I graduated from Stephen F Austin State University in 2006 with a B.S. majoring in both Mathematics and Chemistry. I also have 20 college hours in Physics as well as 16 college hours in Biology. The educational goals of the departments is that it is not enough to do well on exams and homework, a successful student must be able to communicate the ideas and information to people of various levels of familiarity with the material. With this in mind students were expected to present material to the classmates, schoolmates and faculty in seminars from research projects. In addition to this I possess over 3 years experience teaching adults in professional development programs.
Teaching Style
I love Science and Mathematics, and sharing this knowledge and these ideas with others. I emphasize problem solving skills that start with defining the problem, then identifying the relevant data given and always keeping in mind the final goal. Reaching the goal may involve a number of steps, so organizing your work is a key skill in the process. Once a goal is identified, the definitions, ideas, and theories that will help you arrive at the solution must always be kept in mind and tested for relevance during the process. With proper organization the task becomes much simpler to accomplish.
