Experience Summary
I have helped my fellow students learn for nearly as long as I've been learning, myself. While attending Community College, I worked as a Peer Tutor in a wide range of subjects. While attending University, I worked as a General Subject Tutor and as a Math Tutor. I studied abroad in South Korea for one year, during which time I tutored Korean students in English and worked as a Classroom Aide and Assistant Teacher in several private schools. During all this time, at home and abroad, I also offered my services as a Private Tutor, assisting students with Math, Computer Science, and English. I have a BS in Mathematics, with an English Minor, and I have a great passion for my subjects.
Teaching Style
I've been told I have a great capacity for making complex ideas more understandable. This is why students seeking Math help at my University would ask for me specifically, I can take a complicated concept and explain it in a way that makes it seem much simpler, and when one approach doesn't work, I go again from a different direction. My goal is always to make the student understand the process and reasoning, not just memorize a method. I am approachable and patient, and I can adapt to any learning style. My favorite part of being a tutor is seeing that spark of understanding in a student's face.
