Experience Summary
My experiences in schools, hospitals and business provide me with the diversity to instruct students in subjects, such as math, general science, biology, business concepts and English grammar. My educational preparation, BA in biology and MBA, has given me the background knowledge in science and business. In addition, I have a MA degree in teaching which has provided me with advanced instructional skills and techniques. I have taught and interacted with a variety of students from high school freshmen to college seniors, in groups as well as individuals. I have developed college internship programs where graduates achieved a 100% passing rate on certification boards.
Teaching Style
I believe that each student is unique. Therefore, a variety of teaching methods within a supportive learning environment are required to address each student's uniqueness. I have found that students relate to analogies, practical examples, discovery, computer simulations, and real life applications as opposed to straight memorization of content. Above all, the optimal blend of patience and guidance are required to motivate each student to achieve success. I have worked in a variety of educational roles and have experienced that, as an educator, there is no greater feeling than to see a student's eyes light up after a concept is grasped. For me, this is the ultimate achievement of student success!
