Experience Summary
For 9 of my 31 years in education, I was a classroom teacher. For 22 of those years, I was a reading teacher and instructional resource teacher. These positions required me to test students who were new to the district, do turnkey workshops for the faculty of the school in which I worked and also plan and devise curriculum suggestions with the administration of the school district. I feel that my experience will enable me to help students with their tutoring needs.
Teaching Style
I consider myself fortunate to have been able to help children of many ages throughout my teaching career. I ascribe to the philosophy which says that all students are capable of being successful if they are given enough assistance and opportunities to learn. I believe that with understanding, patience and the correct materials, all students can learn to be successful. In today's high-pressured societal demands, many students feel unable to achieve on the standardized tests necessary for college admittance and yearly tests in school as well. Through respect and clear cut directions, I motivate students to be the best learners they can be.
