Experience Summary
As an Art Teacher and Art Therapist, I have excelled in working with students who have learning problems. I've maintained a private practice to help students with reading and writing difficulties. While working at the university level, I tutored college students at a college writing center in English, business, psychology, and humanities. I've mastered APA style writing skills for research papers and dissertations, and have assisted undergraduate and graduate students.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. I prefer to act as a coach and use experiential learning activities with students. Identifying a child's learning style can aid in emphasizing strong points to help the student achieve academic success. Once a child experiences success, he/she will be more willing to take risks in attempting new experiences.
