Experience Summary
I have spent the past nine years of my life as an educator working at all levels of education including elementary, primary, secondary, and undergraduate and enjoyed every minute of my chosen career path.
My primary background is in both English and Theatre, though I have tutored in all subjects and have worked with several Florida tutoring organizations here in Jacksonville.
I have worked as an English teacher at Bishop Kenny High School as well as an English tutor for 6th through 12th grade students, and believe that my background in both Theatre and English is what makes me an approachable, friendly, and very skillful tutor in any area in which I tutor.
Teaching Style
It is my personal belief that all students are capable of learning and excelling in any subject that they are having difficulty with, one must simply find a way to relate the information to the student with methodologies and lessons that appeal to their strengths and personal interests.
My teaching style is one wherein the student and I are allowed to take advantage of a relaxed atmosphere that promotes both confidence and structure in the student(s) whom I am working with.
I find that compassion, understanding, and constant positive reinforcement are the best methods to promote learning skills in a student's life, as well as to provide the student with the desire to further their work ethic in the classroom.
