Experience Summary
During my undergraduate career, I was privileged to enroll into the Physiology department in the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona. The University of Arizona is one of 10 schools throughout the country that offer the physiology major to undergraduates. My BS degree is unique, and allowed me to continue to purse a part of medicine I have a strong passion for. I was able to complete a course in Muscle Biology, where we discussed everything from current muscle research to advancements in muscle technology.
Along with my bachelor's degree, I received my personal training certification just last year. With this certification I have been able to put into practice what I have learned.
Teaching Style
Teaching has become a big passion of mine, and I have taught people of all ages. Everyone learns in a different way--some visually, others verbally. I like to incorporate both into my teaching, by showing both you reinforce the topic and hit on both learn styles. After both a visual demonstration and verbal explanation I like to see the individual repeat what I just showed them. Learning anatomy is about constant repetition, and also having a solid understanding of the physiological processes involved. I am the type of teacher who likes to constantly be asking questions on previous material we covered, which is again repetition for the student.
