Experience Summary
I have a tendency to push myself, I was persuing a double major in college in Math and Musical Theater but made a last minute decision to focus on my math career. I then pushed myself to achieve a master's degree in Secondary Education in only a year. I began tutoring in college when I decided that I wanted to go into teaching. I gained experiences tutoring Statistics, all levels of Calculus and college Algebra. I was never at the top of my class but I was above average so I feel I understand both the students who come to understand topics well as well as those who need a little help.
Teaching Style
I believe that students learn best when they can put meaning behind what they learn. I do my best to answer the question, "When am I ever going to use this?" I have found that my best teaching moments have been out of the formal classroom, when I am working in a one-on-one setting with my student. I can personalize their lesson so that they get the most out of their time with me. My ultimate goal is to work hard with your son or daughter so that they become an independent learner and do not have to rely on me to be successful.
