Experience Summary
I have a lot of experience working with children, sports wise and education wise. While living in San Francisco for 3 1/2 years i volunteered for about 2 years at an afterschool program in downtown SF. The after school program consisted of children ages 5-15. I am also currently working with children ages 3-16 as a swim instructor at the YMCA. While tutoring i worked with the children's homework in all subjects such as reading and writing.
Teaching Style
I love working with children! I have the ability to work with the child's weakness and strengths. I can work around how the child learns, I usually just observe first because I try to teach a child. I think its very important to see what the child's weakness and strengths are first before you try to teach them anything. I believe that all children have different ways on learning and they all have their own time on learning. I don't like forcing children to learn something they don't want to learn, I like getting the child involved in anything they are learning and getting their opinion on what we should do to get them to learn. I like making a difference in a child's life, I think it's important for them to know that they can always learn something new!
