Experience Summary
As a non-traditional, graduate of Nazareth of Rochester, it has become very clear why an excellent education is clearly the only way to achieve autonomy, which I believe is crucial to all. I earned my dual-certification and Bachelor's Degree in Regular Education and Special Education. Because my own son had learning disabilities, I earned my Master's in Reading. I have worked with the Rochester City School District for 8 years. This experience has given me the opportunity to be involved with very diverse learning styles and abilities.
Teaching Style
The following is my personal philosophy of education: I believe that all children have the to ability to learn. A student's curriculum should be integrated with multiple-intelligences in mind. It is crucial for students to be able to make personal connections in their learning. Good teaching means engaging students in meaningul dialogue, text and their lives. Literacy should be encouraged and demeonstrated as a life long process. A successful learning environment must be safe, caring and respectful.
