Experience Summary
I recently graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, one of the nation's elite research universities, so I feel that I now have a true appreciation for academic excellence. I earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies. I will begin pursuing an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at San Diego State University this fall. I have years of experience in writing and research skills, as well as a broad background in the liberal arts. I spent 2 summers tutoring an elementary school age student in basic Hebrew and I served as a tutor for an academic enrichment program during my senior year of high school. I am eager to share my knowledge and expertise with other motivated students!
Teaching Style
In tutoring situations, I like to lead by example. I try to be an excellent role model by sharing with my students the methods I have used to achieve academic success in my own life. I believe that everyone has a different learning style and it is just a matter of figuring out what works for each individual person. I am patient, yet persistent. I allow students to learn from their own mistakes by not telling them the answers, but instead providing guidance and help when needed. My easygoing nature allows me to develop friendships with my students that are necessary for me to be an effective mentor.
