Experience Summary
Hired by the School Board of National City as a tutor at Central Elementary School assisting student from 1 through 6 in homework activities. I was hired by the city of National City to work in an After School Program, WINGS, working with students from 1 through 6. I was in charge of handling groups of different sizes going from 20 to 30 students. My job in this program was to create different activities regarding with math, science, and reading. I was also in charge of creating lessons for extracurricular activities such as health, nutrition, art, dance, and sports.I worked for the city of Chula Vista in an academic program,STRETCH. I served as a substitute in different elementary schools in Chula Vista. Throughout this program, I was in charge of handling different groups from 1 through 7 grades. I had to perform different lessons involving cultural activities, sports, homework, and English. It has been a very enjoyable experience to work with student from different group ages.
Teaching Style
I consider that each student is capable to learn and to achieve an expected goal. I have tried in my years of tutoring to motivate student's learning skills by challenging them with new methods in solving a task. My teaching style varies depending on the group of students I am faced to. I have gone from one on one tutoring to a whole group experience. I am flexible to student's learning process. I can very well adapt and modify my lesson planning when the concept is being hard to understand. I am a responsible tutor, as well as confident, easy going and patient.
