Experience Summary
I earned my bachelor of arts degree in English with a minor in secondary education and professional writing certification from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2007. I taught 10th grade English and Literary Strategies II, which demonstrates my proficiency in the language arts.
English 10 focuses on students' skills in literary analysis and writing analytical essays whereas Literary Strategies II helped struggling readers with synthesis, metacognition, and specific reading strategies.
Teaching Style
Teaching is not only my career, it's my life. I strongly believe in Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences which states that there are eight different pathways to learning; as a result, I rely on kinesthetic, spatial, and musical intelligences to present new information.
I make my expectations clear to my students, and my students clearly state their expectations of me. I advocate and work hard for my students to show that I truly want to help better their lives.
