Experience Summary
As a music educator, I have worked in a variety of settings, most recently for 23 years at the Hochstein School of Music teaching group classes of children, ages 2 years through 11 part time. I addition, I home-schooled my own four children over the course of 21 years, covering all subject areas, and they have all subsequently succeeded in their college careers. I have also taught Literature, Writing, Music, and Social Studies classes for local homeschoolers' groups.
Teaching Style
I enjoy children and learning together with them. I find the world a wonderful place and enjoy sharing the splendors of creation with young people. It is natural for me to work one-on-one with children as I have done for many years as a homeschool mom.
I am convinced that reading and writing are key to developing the thinking process, and believe that learning to express oneself clearly and accurately within the marvelous grammatical system we have inherited is a great asset. At the same time, there is great delight and creativity unleashed through imagination. Books open these doors for us.
