About Me

Experience Summary

I am a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Working with children has always been my life’s passion. Students’ eagerness and absolute love of learning only gives me more incentive and desire to one day have my own classroom. I have taken and passed the New Jersey PRAXIS II Exam: Content Knowledge K-8; currently, I hold a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility through the alternate route. Being a highly motivated individual who desires to excel in any task presented, I am willing to incorporate my knowledge of English into the mandated state and district curriculum. Possessing fluency in Italian and conversational speaking skills in Spanish will be an asset in communicating with students and parents who are non-English speakers. As a well-organized, dependable worker who wishes to impel youth to learn in a fresh and exciting manner, I plan to use my talents as a musician and in the creative arts to explore new venues of learning that will inspire students to exceed any expectation.

Teaching Style

An instructor, no matter how skilled, will never succeed at reaching a level of understanding with all of his or her students unless he or she is able to expound the lesson beyond the blackboard. Like a child who desires to color outside the rigid and creativity-stifled lines, so does the knowledge-hungry student search for a way to grasp and conceptualize ideas outside the standard perimeters of traditional learning. Teachers are now called to blow off the aged chalk from their routine boards and place focus on the specific needs of students, seeing each as an individual learner and not part of a generalized class. Lessons and concepts should be presented in a matter that brings them into a reality rather than an unclear abstraction. Having the extraordinary power to inspire and motivate students to excel, teachers must not hesitate to use their skill and creativity to explore a given lesson outside the boundaries of a textbook.
